Having built your first very own website for your business or for your blog you now wonder why you still haven’t receive any comments or why do you have a small number of visitors. How could you maximize website traffic as a beginner? There are many ways for you to be able to generate traffic for your website. You can either waste lots of money doing it or just spend less in getting online web traffic to your site.

The first and most important thing to have in order for you to maximize website traffic is to have a good content. Keep the contents or articles of your website short but interesting to read. Many visitors really have a lesser attention span especially to very long articles. So keep your contents in good quality and in short pieces. Another important thing to remember about content is to have a regular update on it. It will keep your visitors from coming back for more.

Use social networking sites as an online marketing tool for your website. By putting up more links on these social networking sites to point back to your website, you can boost the popularity of your website and in turn generate more online web traffic. It is an effect way for internet marketing.

Another way to generate traffic for your first website is to sign-up on forums related to the content of your site. Place the URL of your website in the signature of your profile in the forum. Search for postings or topics that are related to your site and try to answer questions or solve problems posted. Your signature will appear in every post you make in the forum. But don’t overdo your postings, like doing repeated postings, or you’ll be marked as a spammer by the administrator of the forum. You can also do similarly by commenting on blogs, also related to your site, by placing back links to your own site.

Maximizing website traffic as a beginner doesn’t have to be a very difficult task. It’s just a matter of putting everything in order and keeping it simple. Generate traffic for your website is not a walk in park. Though it will take some time, but slowly but surely you’ll be able to get the traffic you desire if you’ll just follow the basics.

I agree on the short attention span of website visitors. Large paragraphs turn them off, as with long sentences - because the eye just jumps from point to point, from annoying banner to intriguing image to sensational heading. So yes, the content would have to be crisply written. Good tips, by the way. I'm into online marketing myself. :D

Thanks Robert for the nice insight.

I think images can be an eye catcher. But it also depends on your selection of images used. It must be relevant to your post or article. Unless all you want to do is get attention and later turn-off your visitor.
